During Make-A-Mark Baltimore 2019, hosted by idfive, I worked with a user experience designer and creative director to produce a style guide, logo, journey map, and low- and medium-fidelity web app prototypes for the nonprofit Hosts for Humanity. Two web developers brought the basic website to life.
Hosts for Humanity helps people visiting Baltimore for long- and short-term medial care and their families find low- or no-cost housing close to their care centers. Many hosts have experience traveling for medical care, and the project nurtures community and connection through empathy. We used bright colors to uplift and photos highlighting diverse users in comfortable home settings to convey understanding and peace of mind and the practical purpose of the service. We also sought to build a straightforward navigation with content of interest to both guests and hosts.
